Jeremy Mahon is the head coach of the War Training Center and oversees the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program. He is a 2nd Degree Black belt under Renan Chavez.
He has assembled a group of accomplished BJJ competitors to teach different age groups and experienced levels.
Jiu Jitsu at War Training Center has been refined through competition and tends to be more position dominant and wrestling focused. This style is more effective for self defense and is more effective when combined with other martial arts.
Our head coach for our BJJ program is Anthony Ivy.
He teaches
Beginners are welcome and encouraged to come to the BJJ Intro and BJJ Gi classes. More experienced jiu-jitsu practitioners are encouraged to come to BJJ 10 rounds. Members of other gyms are welcome to come train by paying a drop in fee.
Our Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu coach is Moises Romero. He is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Jeremy Mahon.
Classes are provided on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 5:30 pm. Kids are encouraged to come twice a week but will develop coming once a week as well. Many fall in love with the sport and want to come all three days.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a great martial art for kids because they learn confidence, proper aggression, respect, and restraint. In class the kids work together to all get better. The progress really shows when we go to outside competitions.
We have a Teen BJJ class that meets on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 and is taught by Josh Mahon (black belt) and John Whiteley (brown belt).
We have a competition class for those that would like to compete in grappling and BJJ competitions on Wednesday Nights at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 10:00am taught by Hector Cuevas (brown belt).
